Amnesia, It Does a Body Good! This entry was posted on 1/9/2007 1:15 PM and is filed under uncategorized. I don't know about you but the New Year is usually a time of reflection for me, and not just about the ending year...about my life as a whole. Sometimes I tend to get stuck on some events from my past that were really painful or maybe when I failed at something...yes, I've had my fair share of painful failures! As I sat pondering these events I found myself getting more and more discouraged about the prospects of 2007. Until, that is...enter Bertha!
Bertha came cruising through looking like a million bucks in her newest emerald green velour capris with matching jacket and some to die for green faux snake skinned stilettos...she was the bomb for sure on her way to get a manicure and pedicure...so I quickly asked her if she had been reflecting over the past. Bertha looked at me in all seriousness and told me that she couldn't remember the past...that she had amnesia...I was frantic...did we need a doctor...should she lie down...should she be driving...did I need to go on her date with the hunky new guy? Now, Bertha laughed...she didn't need a doctor, unless he was the hunky new guy...she was perfectly capable of driving...she had just chosen to have amnesia...to forget her past mistakes and heartbreaks... But how could she keep from repeating the past if she forgot about it? And the room got brighter as that giant light bulb came on over my head during Bertha's explanation...our thoughts create our future...if we spend all our time rehashing our unpleasant past...we're creating an unpleasant future...so when I was reflecting...I was actually projecting...more pain and angst into the future... So now, I'm joining Bertha in a full blown case of amnesia...those ghosts I forget won't come back to haunt me! I am so looking forward to 2007. I just know it is a year filled with happy surprises and success for all of us!
